“Sustainable Airport Areas, Guidelines for Decision Makers” is launched in Île-de-France
During the Sustainable Airport Areas International Seminar held in Paris from 17 to 19 October, the team of the Institute of Urban Planning of Île-de-France (IAU-ÎdF) presented, for the first time, the complete guidebook “Sustainable Airport Areas, Guidelines for Decision Makers” (click here to download it).
This publication is the final outcome of the Metropolis initiative on sustainable airport areas, led by Île-de-France from 2015 to 2017, during which three workshops were organized (two in Paris and one in Atlanta), with the participation of several Metropolis members.
The guide leaves a legacy for our membership, and will hopefully contribute to the development of future Metropolis projects which deal with the planning and management of the metropolitan territories surrounding major airports, such as the new project “METROAirports: socioeconomic impact and uses of new-generation airports”, led by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
