Launch pilot project "Participatory Democracy"
On October 5th and 6th, the launch of the pilot project "Participatory Democracy" was organized by the cities of Córdoba, Barcelona, Madrid and Montréal, and in the framework of the World Metropolitan Day 2020.
This project will promote the exchange of experiences for participatory democracy, with a special focus on Participatory budgeting, and generate knowledge that allows its strengthening in the metropolises.
On the 5th, an open online event welcomed the attendance of more than an 100 of participants from around the world, and saw representatives of the cities present some of their recent experiences on how to foster participatory democracy during the pandemic.
On the 6th, a closed meeting between the representatives of the cities participating in this pilot project took place, to discuss on the methodology that will be used to analyze the different case studies of the project.
