The UCLG ASPAC Council Meeting is an annual meeting being attended by 45 Local Government representatives plus the Presidency and the International Association representative. This year, the council meeting is scheduled on September 2 to 5, 2019 and will be hosted by the City Government of Makati, the Financial Center of the Philippines.

The Council Meeting will focus on key concepts and strategies on smart city which are developed to address issues that threaten the liveability and sustainability of cities. As a highly urbanized city, Makati is committed in pursuing sustainable urbanization through the implementation of a New Urban Agenda (NUA) as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
