The side event will explore the topic of social cohesion and living together as a local and global challenge. The session aims to explore how cities are dealing with issues related to social cohesion and inclusion at the local level, and particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The session will present the concept and examples of city policies on Living Together. In line with the priorities of the U20, this session will complement the works of Taskforce 2: Inclusive prosperous communities.

The U20 is both a unique platform and a call to action for ambitious local government and city leaders to step up and send a joint message from U20 Cities to national leaders. The side events will provide an opportunity for U20 partners from cities, academia, the private sector, civil society, and international organizations to contribute to enriching the debate on the future of cities.
