Seizing the occasion of the first 2016 Metropolis Board of Directors meeting  and giving continuity to the preparatory process for the UN Habitat III Summit, the City of Berlin invites the representatives of the world's major metropolises to discuss relevant international goals, namely the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the New Urban Agenda, against the background of their own local situation. Mayors and city administrations should then specify in practical terms how they would implement these goals locally, what general requirements for implementation are already in place and what requirements have yet to be met.
