SUPERSTAR CITIES. TRANSFORMATION FOR SUCCESS

Moscow Urban Forum 2021 will be held from July 1 to 4 in the Zaryadye Hall and Zaryadye Park. The Forum's theme will be "Superstar Cities. Transforming for Success."

The creation of new urban infrastructure that meets the highest requirements is the main issue of international communication and interaction between global cities. The exchange of expertise enables us to make cities more attractive and comfortable for those who live and work in them.

Moscow has become a leader in taking on board many urban changes and is now consistently listed as one of the greatest cities in the world. Because the changes that have taken place over the past decade have occurred so rapidly, the capital is able to share its experience in effective urban planning policies, balanced development, the pace of construction, the implementation of smart technologies, advanced transport solutions, and services for citizens.

Addressing the 2019 Moscow Urban Forum, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN-Habitat Maimunah Mohd Sharif stated that “Moscow’s experience can be useful for many cities UN-Habitat collaborates with. I suggest that Moscow share its experience and technical expertise with other cities’’.

According to Denis Boykov, CEO of Moscow Urban Forum, “Moscow is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. The city is actively developing in a number of areas, including the construction of new transport infrastructure, housing renovations and the redevelopment of industrial zones, the modernization of social and sports infrastructure, and the development of public spaces. These projects are truly world-class; they have gained worldwide recognition and received a number of awards and prizes in recent years. In fact, we can say that Moscow is a source of advanced urban changes for world cities".
