In 2019, the Workshop on “Marine Ecology Conservation and Management” was organized by the Committee and Minjiang University. The agenda consisted of several lectures and site visits introducing the basic knowledge of marine biodiversity and ecological protection, and the current application of science and technology in the field of marine creatures. Also, it was the occasion to discuss marine plastic waste and other environmental pollution which have been increasingly prominent. In 2020, the Committee will continue to hold the "Marine Disaster Prevention and Reduction Workshop", and invites Committee members, government officials in international coastal cities, and experts and scholars in related fields to jointly promote exchanges and cooperation in marine disaster prevention and reduction as well as in marine ecological protection.
