UN-Habitat will publish, in October 2020, the report "Global State of Metropolis", five years after the Montréal Declaration, in order to take stock of the new metropolitan reality around the world and to address the major challenges of metropolitan management and development in terms of policy formulation, governance, planning, and financing of urban development. With this project, UN-Habitat will strengthen the knowledge and research on metropolitan subjects as well as the cooperation for sustainable metropolitan development through existing and new platforms as established in paragraph 41 of the Montreal Declaration. 

This third Experts Group Meeting in Barcelona will validate the first quantitative analysis and case studies in European metropolises.

Originally planned for April 20-21, 2020, this meeting has been postponed until further notice.
