Digital Citymakers’ Summit 2025

Digital Citymakers’ Summit: Urban Collaborations: Local Actions, Global Impact

Our Urban Sustainability Exchange (USE) platform will host this online networking event to discuss and explore urban collaborations between citymakers. Event speakers including Metropolis Secretary General Jordi Vaquer, Julia Lopez Ventura (European Regional Director, C40 Cities) and Santiago García Vence (Head of Cabinet and responsible for bilateral relations, City of Buenos Aires), will open the Summit with a panel discussion. Each speaker represents a different format and level of urban cooperation and, therefore, all speakers will bring a unique perspective to the discussion. They will discuss questions such as:

  • What are the success factors of international urban exchange?
  • What are the main challenges?
  • What are successful examples and formats for urban collaborations aimed at global solutions?
  • How can local urban policy making benefit the most of international knowledge exchange?

There will be five Parallel Network Sessions thereafter. Join Metropolis Programs Officer Daniel Pelufo at Session A: Sustainable Mobility for Inclusive Cities: Integrating Gender Perspectives in Sustainable Transport Policies. The session will highlight main challenges, key achievements, lessons learned, and replicable strategies that other cities can adopt to foster equitable and sustainable mobility solutions through the presentation of Metropolis' AVANTIA project, an EU-funded international city-to-city cooperation project implemented in Bogotá, aimed at advancing sustainable transport with a gender perspective.
