CIVITAS NOVUS :MAINSTREAMING INNOVATION IN CITIES & REGIONS: A GUANGZHOU AWARD & METROPOLIS ASSESSMENT TOOL

The session is a kind of panel discussion and the topics are about Crossover on Smart City. It would be a time to share and discuss how smart cities can move forward for innovative urban growth.

This edition of the Smart City Expo will see the launch of Civitas Novus, a new method for assessing urban innovation systems. Our urban innovation assessment is part of the paradigm shift that emphasizes the fundamental role cities perform in improving urban resilience and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. We need new ways to organise, manage and experience urban life that can build on, adapt and transform existing urban systems. 

Civitas Novus is an initiative led by the Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation, with the support of the Penn Institute for Urban Research, Metropolis and UCLG.
