From the Barcelona of the 15' to the Catalonia of the 45': rethinking the metropolis

 

  • Is it possible to live in a city like Barcelona where less than 15 minutes anyone has access to the services they need?
  • What changes need to take place in mobility and urban planning to achieve this?
  • Is it possible to move this debate throughout Catalonia but extending it to 45 minutes?

As part of the Metropolitan World Day, PEMB and AMB want to bring together different experts in the webinar “From the Barcelona of the 15' to the Catalonia of the 45'”, a debate that will serve to enrich the metropolitan challenges of "Barcelona Demà. Compromís Metropolità 2030”.

The covid19 pandemic has highlighted the weaknesses of our lifestyle, has highlighted the fragility of the predominant economic model in cities, and in particular in Barcelona, ​​and has raised doubts about the appropriateness of excessive population concentration and activity in certain places. In this context, combining the trinomial "urbanization - climate change - territorial balance" will be one of the great challenges for our country in the coming years.
