Urban infrastructure initiatives to receive global recognition! 🌎

6th Guangzhou Award at the 2023 Global Mayors' Forum

The 6th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation aims to recognize innovation in improving social, economic, and environmental sustainability in cities and regions and, in so doing, advance the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens. This year's award ceremony will take place during the 2023 Global Mayors' Forum from December 7th to 9th in the city of Guangzhou, China.

The United Nations reports that two-thirds of the world's population will live in urban areas by 2050. That's 2.5 billion additional people moving to cities worldwide, which will cause a strain on all aspects of urban infrastructure. 

Solutions are needed now more than ever. Cities worldwide are coming up with creative solutions to improve the sustainability of their infrastructure. See the shortlisted cities below:

• August 31, 2023 - Final Submission Deadline

• November 1 - 30, 2023 - Online Vote: The City of Your Choice

• December 6, 2023 - Final Assessment by Jury and Award Ceremony in Guangzhou, China
