On July 9, 2019 local time, the 43rd UNESCO World Heritage Committee Meeting (Session of the World Heritage Committee) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, the President Abulfas Garayev declared the 44th Session of the World Heritage Committee will be organized by the government of Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China. This will be the second time that the Session of the World Heritage Committee is held in China, and it is also the highest-level international conference in the field of cultural and natural heritage protection held in China. The Session of the World Heritage Committee is a regular meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held once a year. The main duties of the conference are to review and approve new projects to be selected in the World Heritage List, to supervise the protection of listed World Heritage sites, and to manage World Heritage Funds.
