Take the Initiative! - First meeting of the Metropolis Initiative on Integrated Strategic Planning and Public Private Partnerships
The inaugural meeting of the Metropolis Initiative “Integrated Strategic Planning and Public Private Partnerships” will be convened during 26-27 July 2012, in New Delhi. The workshop will be conducted over two days and is directed primarily to Indian government and municipal staff engaged in planning the provision and maintenance of basic infrastructure. Whilst this Initiative is focused on Indian cities, other interested Metropolis members are welcome.
This project is led by the Victorian State Government Department of Planning and Community Development (for Melbourne) in partnership with the UN Global Compact Cities Program, and the support of the National Institute of Urban Affairs – India (NIUA).
On the first day of the workshop participants will be introduced to the 'Circles of Sustainability' methodology and the identification and documentation of critical issues.
Day 2 will be dedicated to establish the parameters and process for the continued engagement of stakeholders in the project, their commitment and implementation steps. An important component will be ‘one to one’ consultations between the workshop convenor and individual stakeholders.
The workshop will be conducted in English only. Importantly, as this is a training works, there will be not opportunity for presentations of case studies by participants.
