The METROPOLIS Vice-President, Mr. Michael Müller from Berlin City, will represent the association today during the first Habitat III PrepComm meeting in New York City. During the 11th Metropolis World Congress in Hyderabad , there is a special series of exhibitions dedicated to the rich art, culture and people of the region. There would be glimpses of art and culture of Hyderabad, (Telangana region) in every aspect of the Metropolis World Congress but the Exhibition ‘Art @ Telangana’ would bring together the finest examples of Art from the region. This exhibition is specially curated for the 11th Metropolis World Congress. Art @ Telangana – Soul for Urban Habitat, would bring together inspirational and emerging artists from the region, where art has been part of daily life for centuries. The sculptures, paintings and abstracts are woven in an interesting mosaic of human life, which would be exhibited throughout the 11th Metropolis World Congress venue in Hyderabad, HICC.

Social Innovation with Digital Technology
The Indian School of Business (ISB) in association with GHMC, Government of Telangana and 11th Metropolis World Congress invites entries towards concept solutions using Social Innovation with Digital Technology.
It is called to be the first initiative in India involving people in better urban planning. Citizens aged between 18 and 35 years are called to participate in the event.
The shortlisted participants will be allowed to take part in 36-hour pre-Hackathon event Sep 26-27 at the Indian School of Business (ISB). They can come up with innovation in any of the 17 focus areas including public transportation, sanitation, roads, electricity, water supply, housing, parking management and women safety.
Microsoft is collaborating with Hyderabad Urban Hackathon by proving mentorship and technical support.
There are three stages, final being the Hackathon event to be conducted on 6th October, 2014 at HICC, Hyderabad.

Megacity Think Tank Alliance (MeTTA) is an international alliance based in Seoul, and lead by the Seoul Institute. It aims at providing solutions to problems that megacities face and subsequently to improve the quality of life of their citizens.
The 1st MeTTA Forum titled “Megacity: Beyond Risk towards Safe City” will be held on 11th July 2014 at the Grand Conference Hall at Seoul City Hall. The event is organized jointly by the Seoul Institute and Seoul Metropolitan Government (member of METROPOLIS).
The Municipality of Tehran has host the National Conference on “Global City: The Role of Strategic Communication and City Diplomacy in Social Development”, in Tehran, 17-18 May 2014. The Municipality of Tehran, the Chief of Center for Public and International Relations Mr. Shahram Gilabadi together with the Tehran Urban Planning and Research Center(TUPRC) and its Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department, Mr. Ali Farhadi, invited METROPOLIS to take an active role in the conference.

Una delegación del AMVA (Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá), la ACI (Agencia de Cooperación e inversión de Medellín y el Área Metropolitana y un representante de ONU-Habitat visitaron ayer el Secretariado General de Metropolis en Barcelona. Su objetivo es constituir una comunidad de intercambio y buenas prácticas con otras áreas metropolitanas que aporten soluciones viables para mejorar la organización y gestión de las áreas metropolitanas. El Secretario General, Alain Le Saux, les ofreció integrarse a las actividades de intercambio de Metropolis para conocer las experiencias de sus ciudades miembro.
